NYSIA and NY Tech Leaders Will Testify to NY City Council on "How City Government Can Support the Development of New York City's Information Technology Industry"

The hearing will address the current state of the tech industry in New York and address crucial workforce issues and trends.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 21, 2005 -- The New York Software Industry Association (NYSIA) and the Council of New York City will present Oversight on How City Government Can Support the Development of New York Citys Information Technology Industry" on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 1 PM, Committee Room, City Hall.

Bruce Bernstein, the president of the New York Software Industry Association, will be leading off the hearing with an overview of the NYC software/IT industry and the importance of high tech economic development. Other confirmed speakers scheduled to testify tomorrow include: NYSIA Chairperson & Information Builders CEO and founder Gerry Cohen; RRE Ventures Founder and General Partner Jim Robinson IV; ITAC Technology Program Director Franklin Madison, Jr.; City Council Member Gale A. Brewer Rose Tech Ventures LLC Managing Principal David Rose; GlobalTech Research LLC Managing Director and Author Etan Ayalon; WebServesUs Inc. Executive Director James Bradley; CUNY Institute for Software Development and Design Executive Director Ted Brown; City College, City University of New York Professor of Computer Sciences Daniel D. McCracken and M5 Networks President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Hoffman.

The goal of this hearing is to educate the Council Members as well as the general public on crucial issues facing the technology industry in New York. The panelists will present several enlightening perspectives on current high-tech market trends as well as how current concerns within the field could be alleviated through government support.
