Miami, Florida (PRWEB) March 20,2005 Â Coach Tony Fryer, director of One on One Basketball Academy, announced today, that two former nationally known basketball stars, will be participating in the academyÂs upcoming Spring Break Basketball Camps. Tim Hardaway, former Miami Heat & NBA Player, has agreed to make an appearance as a guest coach at the Broward and Palm Beach County spring break basketball camp held at the Wayne Barton Study Center in Boca Raton, Florida. LaQuanda Dawkins, former North Carolina Tar Heel, University of Iowa and current Florida International University assistant, also joins the academy as director of camps for boys and girls grades 1 thru 7 and will make appearances at camps in Miami Beach, Florida.
Tim Hardaway - Former Miami Heat  NBA Star
Tim Hardaway, born and raised in Chicago, attended the University of Texas at El Paso and won the 1989 Naismith award as the countryÂs best college player. He was selected as the 14th pick in the 1st round of 1989 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. Hardaway played point guard for the Golden State Warriors until the middle of 1995/1996 NBA season when he was traded to Miami Heat where he played until 2001. After that, he has played for Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers. Hardaway averaged almost 20 points and 10 assists per game. He reached 5000 points and 2500 assists faster than any NBA player, except Oscar Robinson. Hardaway has also competed in five NBA All-Star Games. He currently reside in Miami Florida with his wife, Yolanda, and their two children.
LaQuanda Dawkins - Former North Carolina Tar Heel won 3 ACC Championships
A 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in physical education, exercise and sport science, Dawkins played basketball for the Tar Heels from 1994 to 1999. During that period, UNC won three Atlantic Coast Conference titles (1994, 1996, 1998) and a NCAA National Championship in 1994. Dawkins was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and received the CoachÂs Award for her efforts during the 1998-99 season. A native of Shelby, NC, Dawkins is the daughter of James and Leatha Dawkins. She also has a younger sister, Temeshia, who played collegiate basketball for Wingate University from 1998-2001.
