Innovative Travel Company Access Trips Brings a New Kind of Tour to the World of Adventure Travel

Access Trips unveils its portfolio of unique instructional adventure tours, created for those who want to develop new skills while traveling. The company combines high-quality instruction with innovative itineraries to provide clients with a memorable travel experience plus the personal satisfaction of mastering a new sport or pastime.

Wellington, New Zealand (PRWEB) April 4, 2005 -- For those looking for more than the typical adventure vacation, a new global travel company, Access Trips, offers a unique alternative – the opportunity to learn a new pastime (or develop an existing one) alongside an expert instructor while exploring a new region or country.

Some companies offer adventure tours, while others provide instructional programs, like ski instruction or kayaking courses, but no company specializes in combining the two," explains Access Trips co-founder Victoria Ransom. Like many top adventure tours, we provide small groups, unique experiences and off-the-beaten-track locations. But we combine this with world-class coaching and carefully-designed instruction programs to give our clients the best of both worlds – a memorable travel experience plus immense personal satisfaction from mastering a new sport or pastime."

Access Trips officially launches this month with more than twenty instructional adventure tours worldwide, and an impressive roster of instructors, including a former Olympic snowboarder, a world-cup mountain biker and a champion surfer. Current tours center around snowboarding, skiing, surfing, kayaking, mountain biking and rock climbing, but the company is developing a range of other instructional vacations, including additional sports trips and cultural tours such as photography, culinary, dance and language.

Guides on other adventure tours will offer clients basic instruction, in order that they can complete the trip safely," explains Alain Chuard, co-founder of Access Trips and a former world cup snowboarder, but we take this to a whole new level by offering comprehensive, flexible instruction that allows clients to improve their performance and gain confidence. Beginners can learn in a relaxed and non-intimidating setting, while intermediates and experts can advance their skills and reach new levels of performance."

The companys tours are designed for those who have a genuine passion for travel and enjoy all that goes with it, including breathtaking scenery, stylish accommodations, unique cultural experiences, exotic food and interaction with locals.

Access Trips offers tours in all continents except Antarctica. One trip takes snowboarders and skiers through New Zealands three best mountain regions and visits many areas where The Lord of the Rings movies were filmed. The Bali surf tour starts in a luxury villa, moves on to a spectacular national park (to which Access Trips has exclusive access) and ends with several nights in a traditional Javanese village.

Other trips include a Bolivia mountain bike tour, a Canary Island bike and yoga trip for women, a Kenya white water kayak safari, a Baja sea kayak adventure and a rock climbing tour in Rio.

Ransom and Chuard left their positions as Wall Street bankers to form Access Trips, after Ransoms own search for a vacation ended in frustration. Ransom explains: I wanted to learn to surf, but I also wanted a meaningful travel experience. I searched the Internet, but all I found were package vacations with no instruction or high-volume surf camps that appeared to be more focused on partying than learning. I did find some quality surf camps, but these didnt provide any real opportunity to explore and experience the country where I would travel."

We started with snowboard and ski trips," says Chuard, but soon our clients were asking us if we could offer similar vacations for other sports. So weve spent more than a year scouting the best locations, securing top instructors and piloting a wide range of exciting trips in preparation for todays full launch."

When Sean Cleere, 35, of the United Kingdom, embarked upon his first experience with Access Trips, he yearned for more than the typical adventure vacation: I wanted a travel experience in which I could challenge myself, learn something new and feel a sense of personal satisfaction."

It didnt take Cleere long to come back for more. Next, I opted for the surf trip to Morocco. I had never surfed and wanted to learn from an expert. I also wanted to travel to Morocco but didnt feel comfortable going on my own." In April, Cleere will once again travel with Access Trips, on the Swiss Snowboard and Ski Tour.

Beginners Andy Hsieh, 28, and Cheryl Teng, 26, who celebrated Tengs graduation from Harvard Law School with the Access Trips New Zealand Snowboard and Ski Tour also plan to return. Access Trips provided the most exciting trip weve ever been on, and we learned so much from our coaches. Well definitely be back," says Teng.

Access Trips are offered year-round, are limited to small groups and last one to two weeks. The company plans to launch weekend excursions later this year.
