History was made in the professional organizing industry when Barry Izsak, President of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), and Sheila Delson, President of the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization (NSGCD), signed an affiliation agreement during the NAPO Board of Directors meeting Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in San Diego before the NAPO Annual Conference. This strategic partnership heralds a new chapter in the evolution of NAPO and NSGCD, recognizing their complementary missions and formally acknowledging the desire of both associations to create more educational opportunities for professional organizers.
NAPO President Barry Izsak comments, ÂI am proud to have played a role in creating this dynamic strategic partnership between NAPO and NSGCD. Not only will both associations be better able to leverage their respective educational resources, but this alliance will reinforce our positions as industry leaders. It will also enable our associations to capitalize on our unique strengths to create educational programs that will benefit all professional organizers and the communities we serve.Â
NSGCD President Sheila Delson, CPO-CD, states, ÂI am personally honored to be a part of this significant strategic alliance. This hallmark event recognizes both NSGCDÂs and NAPOÂs individual and combined strengths, which will create a synergistic outcome by providing an even stronger educational platform for the organizing industry.Â
The many reasons behind this newly formed strategic alliance include the following:
NAPO, celebrating 20 years as The Organizing AuthoritySM, is the premier national association dedicated to the field of organizing. With more than 3,200 members, NAPOÂs purpose is to share information about this growing industry and to define quality standards for the organizing profession. NSGCD is a nonprofit organization serving professional organizers and related professionals who are interested in the study of chronically disorganized people and methods of serving them. For more information on NSGCD, visit http://www.nsgcd.org.
