Famed Novelist Says 'GOD' Is a Black Man

In her new autobiography, African novelist Kola Boof denies allegations that she hates black men.

(PRWEB) January 10, 2006 -- The controversial Sudanese-American author Kola Boof is finally releasing her autobiography, "Diary of a Lost Girl" (0971201986).

Although the memoir details her 1996 affair with Osama Bin Laden (which was against her will), the book also serves as a platform for Boof to dispute the allegation that she's too critical of black men. In a 1998 short story, one of Boof's characters made the comment: "The black man is the biggest disappointment since God".

Since that time, the author has been accused of male bashing and hating black men, so in her autobiography, she lovingly presents the essay "God Is A Black Man".

Boof, who has two sons with her black husband, says that it's ludicrous for people to claim that she hates black men, and writes quite movingly about a host of public figures and personal friends such as Derrick Bell, John Garang, Kalamu Ya Salaam, Troy Johnson, Keith Boykin, ABM, Ousmane Sembene, Kanye West, Spike Lee, Barack Obama, Michael Eric Dyson, Denzel Washington, Dr. Molefi Asante, Joe Madison, Kwaku Lynn Person, Randal Pinkett,Walter Mosley and the author's mentor, legendary Nigerian Scholar and writer Chinweizu.

Gossip tabloids like The Globe and National Enquirer reported several years ago that Halle Berry would star in a film version of the novelist's life story, but rumor has it that Nona Gaye is the author's personal choice to play her should a film be made, with supermodel Alek Wek to play her slain mother and John Turturro as Osama Bin Laden. Cornel Chesney, the owner of Door of Kush Publishing has confirmed that both Fox Searchlight and Disney have contacted him about making Kola Boof's life story into a motion picture.

The autobiography, which is now at Amazon.Com, will be released in hardcover on February 1st.
