THE BACKSTORY:

Adversity was the beginning of Kimberly’s journey to bring her wellspring of information to others, to realize their potential comes from her experience to overcome obstacles and regain health. While putting herself through law school she competed in triathlons at a professional level. In 1982, as a second year law student she was hit by a car during a bike race, she was severely injured. A physical therapist introduced Kimberly to Ivenger yoga. This practice helped her heal and realign her body, aiding in her recovery. She was back in the game.

Just back on her feet in 1983 she was diagnosed with a terminal and inoperable brain tumor. Walking out of the hospital she was determined to prove her doc’s hopeless diagnosis wrong. Her evolving yoga practice became the center of her recovery. They said she wouldn’t make 30, her only mantra was ”mind over matter”, I believe in my power for change. I don’t believe in doctors, I believe in me”.

“Practicing yoga while battling cancer taught me the importance of balancing strength with flexibility. Focusing on my breathe helped me stay centered when in physically or mentally challenging situations,” again Kimberly was put to the test while rock climbing she lost her footing and fell. Not knowing the extent of her injuries (multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung, severe kidney damage) she stayed centered by following her breath and managed to climb down the mountain for help.

YOGA for ATHLETES® is a practice combining Iyengar, Ashtanga and Power Yoga. Selected poses are sequenced to benefit the athletic body by focusing on the hips, hamstrings, core abdominals and upper body. “These are the areas that need special attention in athletes. They are used and abused in sports,” she says.

Professional athletes frequent Kimberly’s one-hour YOGA for ATHLETES® classes and attribute some of their best-ever seasons to her classes; they call Kimberly’s yoga classes their “ secret weapon” that keeps them one step ahead and off the injured list. The class is designed for beginners as well as practiced students of many years.

This is the only class you’ll need to strengthen your body and add flexibility to tight muscles. So “just buy it” -- DVD now available to the world and you.
