Visual Artist Joan Kamaru presents her Chanukah inspired painting ‘3Candles’as her last work for this year. ArchiSpray is the Term used to describe the layering of Architectural Tints and Spray Enamel. Joan coined this term after developing this style of creating artwork.

Inspired by Chanukah, Visual Artist Joan Kamaru features her ArchiSpray artwork titled ‘3Candles’ at Bayside Studio and Showroom located in Melbourne, Australia.

A visual artist with over 35 years of experience, Joan Kamaru has ventured into the Jewish religion as a subject for her latest painting. She has lived in Melbourne for the last six years and has observed the many cultures that make up this vibrant city. Christmas time brings out all the households that light up their homes and gardens. Chanukah starts on the same day that Christmas falls on this year and Joan felt the profound difference in the celebrations.

Joan developed ArchiSpray from experimenting with Faux Finishes for decorating Ornate Plaster. The term ArchiSpray came about as an explanation of the materials and techniques used in Joan’s artworks. Architectural Tints are applied and allowed to dry out. When the layer of Tints is dry another layer of clear enamel is added. Clear spray enamel works the best, but other products can be used. Automotive Tints can be used as well. This is a process that continues until the painting is complete.

“I love creating with this medium” said Joan. “The Tints’ colors are incredible and the fluid nature of this medium allows a great freedom of movement in my work”. Other artworks by Joan feature Australian Bushrangers Ned Kelly and the Kelly Gang inspired ArchiSpray Paintings and Carved Cast Plaster Sculptures. Bayside Studio and Showroom will have Fine Art Prints available for sale in 2006.
