Kick Off the New Year Focused on Family

Houston families now have a great resource for finding local activities for kids age 10 and younger in 2006: the guidebook "100+ Activities for Houston Kids

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) January 2, 2006 -- Houston parents and grandparents are kicking off 2006 focused on their children – with a little help from a new resource. The guidebook 100+ Activities for Houston Kids is hot off the press, giving kids age 10 and younger an up-close look at fun activities around Houston. Activities include preschool skates, the Houston Rockets’ kids night, a Happy Birthday, Mozart! production and much more.

Author and publisher Megan F. Salch developed the guide when she realized there was not one resource of kids activities in Houston that is currently up-to-date. “As a native Houstonian with a little one to entertain, I want our family to explore all that this city has to offer but I don’t want to waste time researching these events every time I turn around,” Salch said. “Thus, this annual guide was born.”

Unlike others, this guidebook includes specific 2006 dates for each activity so readers do not have to spend time on the phone or Internet researching event specifics. Each activity includes a:

  • category or type of activity
  • description
  • recommended age
  • admission price, if one applies
  • physical location
  • web site and/or phone number for more details
  • place for kids and parents to evaluate the activity based on letter grades given in school.

The guide is organized by the months of the year so families can quickly identify great events specific to the time of year. It features more than 100 activities, which have been evaluated by the author – also known as “The Kids Activity Queen”, her daughter and other children of varying ages. Parents and grandparents can now “stay in the loop” regarding fun stuff to do in Houston by grabbing a copy of this fun-packed guide.
