(PRWEB) January 1, 2006 --Leading UK translation service provider Lingo24 has announced a technology partnership with XML-INTL, a pioneering international software company. The partnership will allow for full integration of the two companies’ systems for managing translation and marks the beginning of an intensive period of collaboration.

“We are delighted to have begun work with Lingo24,” said Bob Willans, director of XML-INTL, “because of their excellent reputation within the translation industry, and the quality of their technology department. Their practical experience will be invaluable to our team as we perfect our software solutions for the translation industry.”

Lingo24 CTO Jos Shepherd commented: “Standardisation on XML as a text content storage and interchange technology is taking place in all industries and XML is already tremendously important to the localisation industry. XML-INTL are at the cutting edge of XML use in localisation and complement Lingo24’s own team very well.”

XML is becoming the file format of choice for publishers because it eliminates both direct and indirect costs associated with dealing with proprietary file formats. Integrating XTM, XML-INTL’s next generation translation memory software, with a content management system (CMS), allows companies to make translation just one more step in the workflow of producing content, and thereby to reduce the costs involved in managing multi-lingual content.

Lingo24’s Operations Director, Jack Waley-Cohen, foresees even closer collaboration in future: “Our partnership with XML-INTL is a meeting of minds. We are innovators in the translation industry and XML-INTL are leaders in the development of standards for the translation industry. We have exciting plans and believe our current partnership is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what we can achieve together."
