What is this conference about?

The Christian churches in America have lost 25 million members over the past 25 years. The rate of this exodus is increasing each year. Frank Viola, through his many books, has researched, analyzed, and offers solutions to those concerned. During this conference he will be addressing this fundamental issue:

All sorts of things have replaced Christ's Headship in his Church, the Body of Christ, including church boards, committee meetings, pastors, elders, and church programs. Whenever there is a decision before us regarding the Lord's work or His people, the salient question should not be, "What do we think should be done?" or "What can we agree upon as spiritual leaders?" It rather should be, "What does the Lord want in this situation?"

Christ alone has the right to rule His church—not any man or committee. Jesus Christ must be given His rightful place in the church. When God's people get a hold of the greatness of their Lord and put Him in His rightful place, all of their troubles are on the way to being resolved.

In God's plan, all things begin with the church. That includes this business of Him reigning over all things. The Headship of Christ is not something that we are to practice as a last resort. Too often our attitude is, "I will do whatever I can using my own cleverness, gifts, and abilities, and only rely upon the Lord when I cannot do anymore." This is foolishness at best. Our human ideas and philosophies cannot fulfill one fragment of God's work.

Our ecclesiastical traditions and programs are merely wood, hay, and stubble. Only that which comes out of God's indwelling life can accomplish His purpose. As Jesus said, "Without me, you can do nothing." Most Christians would agree. But is Jesus Christ truly the Head of your church, or is your pastor? Does Jesus Christ make the decisions through His Body . . . which includes you . . . or are those decisions made behind closed doors by a special board of men? Are you allowed to let Christ speak through you, or are you muted and tied to a pew of silence?

In his recent book “Revolution,” nationally known researcher George Barna described a rapidly growing contingent of the Body of Christ that he calls “revolutionaries.” According to Barna, the modern institutional church is both unbiblical in its practices and spiritually ineffective, accounting for millions of Christians leaving it.
