Softball Legend Eddie Feigner of "King and His Court" Fame to Be Subject of a New Film
Eddie Feigner will hold a press conference on Thursday, January 5th in Jackson TN to announce a feature film contract with Powerhouse Films.
Jackson, TN (PRWEB) January 4, 2006 -- Softball legend Eddie Feigner, whose King and His Court® four man softball team has entertained fans for six decades, will hold a press conference on Thursday, January 5th at 11 A.M. at the Olde English Inn in Jackson Tennessee to announce a feature film contract with Powerhouse Films of Dallas Texas.
The film will be largely based on the book of Feigner’s life called, “From an Orphan to a King.” In addition to a feature film, the contract with Powerhouse Films includes a documentary, a television reality series based upon tryouts for The King and His Court, and two interactive video games. Powerhouse Films, an award winning Production Company based in Dallas Texas, is recognized for quality family productions including the Mrs. USA and Mrs. International pageants.
This year will mark the 61st consecutive season that the King and His Court® will tour throughout the United States. Since 1946 Feigner, with his four-man team, has entertained more than 20 million fans worldwide. As the pitcher, Feigner often threw blindfolded from second base with a fastball once clocked at 104 m.p.h. In a 1967 exhibition game he fanned major league stars Willie Mays, Maury Wills, Harmon Killebrew, Brooks Robinson, and Pete Rose. In that game Feigner struck out Pete Rose twice and fanned Willie McCovey and Roberto Clemente back to back. Feigner pitched in 11,125 games, threw 930 no-hitters, and struck out 141,517 batters.
Today, Feigner soon to be 81, is limited to serving as the emcee for the King and His Court® games that also includes his wife Anne Marie, “the Queen”.
