MyDirectOffice launches Flyinside.com, a free service for creating online virtual tours.

MyDirectOffice, a real estate technology company, announces the launch of Flyinside.com, a free virtual tour service. This new do-it-yourself service allows anyone to create and publish property virtual tours online in minutes without paying a cent.

Flyinside.com is expected to attract many agents, brokers, owners, and property managers who have traditionally avoided virtual tours because of the high cost of professional photographers, or large upfront costs and monthly commitments required by other do-it-yourself virtual tour services.

Users take their own property photos, then upload them, write descriptions, select music, and publish their virtual tours online. They can also keep track of tour activity and monitor new leads through their flyinside.com account- all at no cost. If a lead is generated through a virtual tour, the tour creator has the option to purchase that lead for one dollar.

“The idea behind the model,” says Saleem Daoud, MyDirectOffice co-founder and CEO, “is that you don’t have to pay for a virtual tour before you see results. In this case, the results are qualified leads—people who take a virtual tour and are interested enough in a specific property to provide their contact information.”

MyDirectOffice tested the new Free Virtual Tour service at the 2005 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Francisco. “When we explained the model, we could see people’s eyes lighting up,” said Daoud.

Flyinside.com virtual tours have no third party advertising and require no special software. The tours feature the agent’s name and company logo. In addition, tours include Google maps, additional property information, a zoom feature, and navigation tools to facilitate 360° image scrolling. Clients also enjoy free hosting and tour metrics for as long as the tour is active. Other add-ons, including posting to Realtor.com®, are available for a fee.

Studies conducted by Realtor.com® indicate that consumers are 40 percent more likely to view a listing with a virtual tour than listings without. However, only a small percentage of listings currently have virtual tours. By eliminating cost barriers, MyDirectOffice hopes to encourage the use of Flyinside.com virtual tours for all properties marketed on the web.
