Self Defense Techniques from Elite Special Force Units
Learn self defense techniques from former Navy SEALS, Israeli Sayeret Golani and Russian Spetsnaz soliders.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) January 5, 2006 -- Some of the most respected elite special force units from around the globe are the U.S. Navy Seals, the Israeli Sayeret Golani and the Russian Spetsnaz soliders.
Sempai Security Supply (www.sempaisupply.com) is a new web site dedicated to providing consumers with videos detailing the training techniques of these elite special force units.
The United States Navy SEALs are named after the environment in which they operate, the Sea, Air, and Land, and are the foundation of Naval Special Warfare combat forces. They are organized, trained and equipped to conduct a variety of Special Operations missions in all operational environments. Today’s SEALs trace their history from the elite frogmen of World War II. Training is extremely demanding, both mentally and physically, and this produces some of the world’s best maritime warriors.
Today's Naval Special Warfare operators can trace their origins to the Scouts and Raiders, Naval Combat Demolition Units, Office of Strategic Services Operational Swimmers, Underwater Demolition Teams, and Motor Torpedo Boat Squadrons of World War II. While none of those early organizations have survived to present, their pioneering efforts in unconventional warfare are mirrored in the missions and professionalism of the present Naval Special Warfare warriors.
Sempai Security Supply (www.sempaisupply.com/proddetail.php?prod=camp) provides a detailed set of videos that are hosted by former U.S. Navy SEAL trainers.
A part of the Israeli Special Forces is the Sayeet Golani. The Sayeret Golani was created in 1951. It was originally named Machleket Siyur Meyuchedet, or Special Reconnaissance Platoon; a part of the 1st Golani Infantry Brigade. Since its creation, the members of the Golani's brigade reconnaissance element have distinguished themselves to be a effective force with many capabilities beyond the simple reconnaissance role. They have operated all over Israel and even in Beruit, Lebannon, Syria, and Uganda.
Sayeret Golani uses a grueling selection process that can end at any time--washouts are sent to the regular units to serve out their commitments. Upon completion of the Gibush (selection phase), potential commandos are trained in a vast array of necessary skills. Training has been reported to last about a year and 8 months.
The curriculum includes a broad array of new techniques to learn and master. Skills such as parachuting, demolitions, escape and evasion, survival, and intelligence work are covered. The soldiers of Sayeret Golani are expected to be proficient with all of the weapons used in their area of operation. Due to the nature of their operations, they also have their own urban warfare training center, known as Hell Town.
Nir Mamen - (pronounced Near) is a former Sayeret Golani commando and top hand-to-hand combat instructor, his training video can be found at the Sempai Security Supply web site (www.sempaisupply.com/proddetail.php?prod=isradv).
The Russian Spetsnaz (Spetsialnoye nazranie = troops of special purpose) were raised as the troops of the Glavnoe razvedyvatel'noe upravlenie (GRU) (= main intelligence directorate [of the General Staff) and in the 1980s numbered approximately 30,000.
A Spetsnaz company was 135 strong, normally operating in 15 independent teams, although they could also combine for specific missions. The existence of Spetsnaz was a closely guarded secret within the Warsaw Pact and individual troops were not allowed to admit membership.
The primary role of the Spetsnaz is to carry out strategic missions during the final days prior to war breaking out and in war itself. These wartime tasks would include: deep reconnaissance of strategic targets; the destruction of strategically important command-control-and-communications facilities; the destruction of strategic weapons' delivery systems; demolition of important bridges and transportation routes; and the snatching or assassination of important military and political leaders. Many of these missions were carried out before the enemy could react and some even before war had actually broken out.
Vladimir Vasiliev is a former-Russian solider in the elite Spetznaz secret service of the Russian Army. His training video can be found at Sempai Security Supply (www.sempaisupply.com/proddetail.php?prod=russia).
