New doctor joins professional staff at the St. George Corrective Vision Center.
(PRWEB) January 6, 2006 -- Dr. Luker has joined the professional staff at the St. George Corrective Vision Center. Dr. Luker is responsible for examining patients interested in corrective eye surgery and providing regular eye exams.
“When is patient is considering LASIK, I will perform a thorough exam to make sure he or she is a candidate for the procedure. I also follow up with patients after surgery to make sure they are following the correct post-surgical instructions,” she explains.
Dr. Luker stresses the importance of annual eye exams for all ages. “Young children, even infants, need to have their eyes examined so any disorders or problem can be detected early and treated. Signs that a child may have a problem with their eyes or vision are rubbing of the eyes, covering one eye, unusual head posture, squinting, and headaches.”
“Annual eye exams also are extremely important for school age children because vision is directly related to learning. It is not uncommon for school age children to need a vision correction and not be aware of it. That is why so we recommend annual exams before the start of school.”
“Regular eye exams are especially important for teenagers who study more often and may be starting to drive. During the teen years, we also see an increased interest in replacing glasses with contact lenses. In adults, vision problems can be affected by other medical conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, so exams can help treat these conditions,” she advises.
The St. George Corrective Vision Center is the Midwest’s leading center for corrective eye surgery. The medical director is Dr. Nicholas C. Caro.
