Bobo Bergstrom was in fact Chef de cuisine at the Operakällaren restaurant in Stockholm Sweden where he also cooked for the Royal family. He got his start waiting tables in a hotel, but found his true calling behind the stove. After training at Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm and in Bern, Switzerland, Bergstrom cooked at a long list of illustrious hotels such as Bellevue Palace Hotel Bern, SAS Radisson Bergen Norway, Jalousie Hilton St Lucia and the Scandic Park Hotel Stockholm. Now Chef Bobo is one of the most celebrated chefs of the Caribbean, evidenced by the Taste of The Caribbean Chef of The Year title he won 2003 and often requested and sought after as guest chef for TV and restaurants.
After three successful years as Culinary Director at one of the islands largest hotels, Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort, Chef Bobo now has found his place with a small and romantic restaurant on a stunning waterfront setting at the beautiful Rodney Bay. He has designed and fully revamped the restaurant to take best advantage of the location and to meet the expectations of a Caribbean fine dining experience on the highest level.
He has assigned the Head Chef title to his long time Sous chef Clas Myrenas, also with Caribbean experience. Together they are dedicated to promoting the areas indigenous ingredients and have adapted the menus from strict European hotel cooking of their background to incorporate the home-cooking techniques of the island. Bergstrom’s intriguing fusion of European and Caribbean food with a touch of Asian cuisine ensures the visitors to St. Lucia will find the local food lives up to the beauty of their surroundings.
