Iowa Native Releases Album of Original Electronic Songs
SoundClick artist Vanilla Shadoe has published his first music CD, in conjuction with lulu.com.
(PRWEB) January 6, 2006 -- Too late for the party at both the PC Demoscene and MP3.com, electronic artist Vanilla Shadoe (known offline as Archie Mangold) developed a sound that has been compared to Joy Electric. He is pleased to release his first album, The Shadoe Sessions, in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com), the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books and music.
The Shadoe Sessions is a collection of original songs that first appeared on SoundClick, the #1 artist music community. It includes acoustic guitar and piano mixes, as well as an early Electronica version of his first SoundClick hit, “I’m Back.” A spoken word track opens the album.
“You can think of it as mood music,” Mangold said. “Play ‘Shadoeland’ if you’re angry, ‘Hanging Around,’ if you’re melancholy, or ‘I’m Back’ if you’re positive or hopeful. Or play the album straight through to hear an artist develop.”
This Oskaloosa, IA native created his online alias by combining the names of rapper Vanilla Ice and radio DJ Shadoe Stevens. Inspired by the song sequencers at hornet.org, he developed his music to express his creativity.
“I found Soundclick to be the most user-friendly and supportive of all the online music sites,” Mangold said. “I first heard of Lulu through the This Week in Tech podcast, and I appreciate the opportunity to self-publish.”
The album is released under a Creative Commons license for non-commercial use.
