Sonasoft Corp. a leader in disaster recovery software announces the release of its Cross-Standby solution for Microsoft Exchange server. This new feature built into Sonasoft’s, Sonasafe for Exchange maintains the redundant, standby server by continually updating the data that is retrieved from the primary system. The standby system can take over instantly in the event of primary system failure and can be on-site or located at a remote site for protection against natural or man-made disasters, as well as protecting data from hardware/software failures or human error.
Email has become a mission-critical application for most businesses today being a challenge to backup and restore. SonaSafe for Exchange Server gives users the ability to automate their entire backup process. The Cross-Standby solution enables two Exchange servers located at two different sites across the country or anywhere in the world to act as a mutual standby for each other. If a crash occurs or if someone in the organization loses a single folder or even an email, it can be retrieved easily with just a few clicks... For example; a company has offices in two locations, one in San Francisco, the other in New York. If the Exchange server in San Francisco has 250 mailboxes while the Exchange server in New York has 400 mailboxes. Using SonaSafe, the server in New York will act as the standby server for the server in San Francisco and vice versa. Suppose, the server in San Francisco goes down, then the server in New York will act as the primary server for all the users at the New York office and also as the standby server for the users in San Francisco. Once the server is rebuilt at the San Francisco office, then all the users from San Francisco office will be switched back to the Exchange server in San Francisco.
"Years ago people would backup their machines mainly because of hardware, software or human error but with complications of Virus, Computer E-mail Worms, large loads of Spam and regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA, E-mail servers need a stable solution which retrieve and archive corporate e-mails. A Solution like Sonasoft could save a company by keeping them up and running as well as keep them compliant to governing data laws”, says Joanna Laznicka of Phaze-9 Corporation.
