Student Entrepreneur Launches $1 Million Homepage to Help Charity

New York resident and college student Anthony Bae has launched www.igolink.com, a site that will allow advertisers to purchase links while at the same time contributing to charities. Each link will be sold for $2.50, and a dollar from each link sold will be donated toward charity.

A single dollar may not be a lot, but with a million of us, it can mean a whole lot

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 9, 2006 -- Twenty-year-old American entrepreneur and college student Anthony Bae has launched www.igolink.com and is aiming to sell one million links to raise $1 million for charity. And it doesn't stop there. This "text" version of Alex Tew's “The Million Dollar Homepage” is more effective and has no limit to how many links the site can hold. For this reason, Bae will continuously donate $1 million every time a million links are sold.

Bae, a college junior from New York, set up iGoLink.com with hopes of raising money for charity to help the ones in need. Each link will be sold for $2.50, and a dollar from every payment will be contributed toward charity. “A single dollar may not be a lot, but with a million of us, it can mean a whole lot,” he explained.

Bae says he has always been looking for ways to help others. “I enjoy helping others; it’s my hobby,” he said. Ever since his freshmen year in college, Bae has been trying to help other online entrepreneurs to succeed; one example of this is his site, www.ImBae.net. The young entrepreneur has launched this site to share all of the "expensive" lessons he has learned as an online entrepreneur.

“Exposure is key for any online entrepreneur, and I basically posted a to-do list and to-avoid list so others don’t have to experience what I unfortunately had to go through,” Bae said.

When asked what he will do with the leftover cash, Bae said, “I will pay off my four-year college tuition and try to get out of the debt that has accumulated during my previous online ventures. Then I will make my business ideas, aimed toward helping other online entrepreneurs, become a reality.” Bae also wishes to travel to countries in poverty to lend a helping hand.

Bae says the site will be online for at least 10 years. "With all the years that the site will be online, advertisers will be doing something memorable with a deal that’s invaluable.”
