Full Sail Real World Education has been named by Unleashed Magazine as one of top five Film Schools in the nation today alongside other well-known universities such as: New York University (NYU) and the University of California (UCLA).
This honor makes quite an impact in the world of entertainment media as this would be the third award recognition for Full Sail in 2005. Rolling Stone Magazine named Full Sail one of the five “Best Music Programs” in the country, and the book, Schools That Rock: The Rolling Stone College Guide, recognized Full Sail’s Entertainment Business Degree Program as one of the top three Music Business Departments in the nation.
Full Sail has also been previously named as one of the top five Game Design schools in the world by Electronic Gaming Monthly, as well as one of the best three New Media schools by Shift Magazine - alongside NYU and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In Unleashed Magazine, Full Sail was dubbed “the school for the industry insider,” and alumni such as 2001 Film Graduate, Darren Lynn Bousman, who recently served as the director of the successful film, Saw II which hit #1 at the box office, was highlighted.
“With the success of Bousman directing Saw II and Film Graduate, Amber Goerish selling a script she wrote to a major motion picture studio only excites me to see what future alumni will do with their film degrees,” said Full Sail Film Program Director, Dave Franko. “The effort the film faculty has continually made is receiving notoriety from publications such as Unleashed. Being ranked among some of the most well-known colleges and universities further validates Full Sail’s proven reputation.”
This pattern of recognition shown by world-renowned publications reveals a significant sign of the times. Full Sail has long since established itself as believing that such traditional boundaries of education don’t have to be the only way to reach extraordinary results. “We believe that our innovative style of education combined with our graduates long track record of success, places Full Sail as a ground-breaking educational leader – one that easily changes and evolves for careers in emerging industries such as entertainment and technology,” said President of Full Sail, Garry Jones. Full Sail offers Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees in seven unique disciplines including: Computer Animation, Digital Arts & Design, Entertainment Business, Film, Game Design, Recording Arts and Show Production & Touring.
