Patty Duke Moves from Television to Telephone

Patty Duke announced today that she will be co-hosting a special live telephone event to share some of her newest initiatives, particularly her efforts to help people coping with mental illness.

Coeur d Alene, ID (PRWEB) January 10, 2006 -- Patty Duke announced today that she will be co-hosting a special live telephone event to share some of her newest initiatives, particularly her efforts to help people coping with mental illness.

In addition to the internet-based Online Center for Mental Wellness that Patty Duke launched in 2005, Patty is adding teleconferences to the other methods she has employed to help people who struggle with mental illness. As with her work on the web, the teleconference is a new medium for getting directly to people who are looking for information, support, and comfort as they battle mental illness.

“Hosting an event like this literally breaks down the ‘fourth wall’ that exists in so many other forms of media,” Patty Duke said. “Using the technology of teleconferencing, people will be able to join in an intimate and real-time discussion of important issues,” Duke continued.

Patty will be joined on the call by Coeur d’Alene resident and Financial Consultant Brad Dugdale. Brad is founder of the National Dream Roundup and the Let’s Save America Campaign for Financial Literacy. The two are friends and have worked together on many community projects. Patty serves as honorary chairperson of the Dream Roundup.

The event will be about 45 minutes long and participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about Patty’s activities with her Online Center for Mental Wellness
  • Hear stories from real people who’ve written in to Patty and her thoughts and encouragement
  • Send an email with questions before and during the call for Patty to answer.

There is no fee to join the call but it is limited to only 100 people. Anyone wishing to participate should visit Patty Duke’s website at: http://www.pattyduke.net and join her newsletter list. The Dream Roundup can be found on the web at: http://www.dreamroundup.com
