KUA Unveils 2006 Energy Conservation Calendar
Kissimmee Utility Authority sponsored a county-wide art contest for third, fourth and fifth grade students. The winning entries are featured in the utility's full-color 2006 Calendar of Energy Conservation.
Kissimmee, FL (PRWEB) January 7, 2006 –- In an ongoing effort to support and encourage the conservation of electricity, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) recently sponsored a county-wide art contest for third, fourth and fifth grade students.
The winning entries are featured in KUA's full-color 2006 Calendar of Energy Conservation. Copies of the calendar are now available free of charge to the general public.
The winning entries are also available for viewing online at http://www.kua.com/Community/Features/StudentArt06.
A total of 341 entries were received from 13 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private and charter schools.
The featured student artists include:
-- Central Avenue Elementary – Luis Rosario, grade 5
-- Cypress Elementary – Christian Adorno, grade 5
-- First United Methodist School – Chris Wilcox, grade 3; Jessica Yousey, grade 4
-- Kissimmee Elementary – Laura Balbuena, grade 5; Alexis Davila, grade 3; Jarynn Lowe, grade 4
-- Life Academy – Christian Arroyo, grade 5
-- Michigan Avenue Elementary – Stephanie Baur, grade 4
-- Mill Creek Elementary – Stephanie Arnold, grade 5; Catherine Castro, grade 5; Alex Price, grade 5
The calendars are being distributed at KUA's Customer Service Center at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee while supplies last.
KUA's annual calendar project has received 36 local, state and national public relations and design awards since its inception in 1995.
