Internet Broadcasting today announced that NBC Olympics again tapped the online news innovator to co-produce NBCOlympics.com (http://www.nbcolympics.com) – America’s online home of the Torino Games. NBCOlympics.com will deliver exclusive Internet video, real-time results, and unprecedented behind-the-scenes coverage of the 2006 Games in Torino, Italy.

Internet Broadcasting will have a staff of 25 dedicated to the Web site at the Games in addition to a full team of resources in Minneapolis.

Internet Broadcasting produces the Web sites for NBC’s 14 owned and operated TV stations and a number of their affiliates, including sites in the nation’s top markets: New York (WNBC.com), Los Angeles (NBC4.tv), and Chicago (NBC5.com).

“Because of our great relationship with our partners at NBC and our expertise in bringing broadcast media content to the Web, we were first selected by NBC to co-produce the NBCOlympics.com site for the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens, Greece,” said Reid Johnson, founder, president and chief executive of Internet Broadcasting. “That site was NBC’s most successful Olympic site ever. This Olympics, the user’s experience will be taken to an unprecedented level and new ground will be broken in the world of TV/Web convergence.”

“NBCOlympics.com will be the perfect complement to NBC Universal’s broadcast of the 2006 Games,” said Evan Silverman, NBCOlympics.com’s executive producer. “With hours of free video, real-time results, up-to-the-minute TV listings, and an array of exclusive, in-depth content, NBCOlympics.com again will be America’s online home of the Olympic Games.”

Fans can practice and qualify to compete in fast-paced on-line games prior to the Opening Ceremony in the Visa Championships. Then, race for prizes from February 10-26 when daily leaders in bobsled, snowboard cross, giant slalom, and the combined events are eligible to win prizes and post medals for local NBC affiliate teams. The player with the single best score in a combined event will be eligible for the Grand Prize – a trip to the games of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, 2010. A second lucky player from the top medal-winning NBC affiliate team will also win a trip to Vancouver.

BLOG: TORINO TRACKER

NBCOlympics.com will leverage the NBC Universal staff on the ground in Italy to provide information for Torino Tracker – a comprehensive blog bringing the Olympic Games to site visitors.
