Ronald D. Heil, CPP, CSC, Pittsburgh-based SecuraComm Consulting’s Director of Consulting, has been designated as a Certified Security Consultant by the International Association of Independent Security Consultant (IAPSC). The CSC certification signifies that the holder has a depth of knowledge, professional objectivity, is skilled as a security consultant, and has a high level of integrity.

Heil, CPP, CSC, Pittsburgh-based SecuraComm Consulting’s Director of Consulting, has been designated as a Certified Security Consultant by the International Association of Independent Security Consultant (IAPSC), the nation’s most recognized organization for independent security consultants.

The IAPSC created the Certified Security Consultant designation to separate the experienced independent security consultant from salespeople who call themselves security consultants, and security consultants who operate without significant knowledge or ethics.

The CSC certification signifies that the holder has a depth of knowledge, professional objectivity, is skilled as a security consultant, and has a high level of integrity. The CSC examination process consists of an examination focused on:

·   Security Consulting Practices
·   Ethics

Ron has over 23 years of Assessment and Program Management experience in the public and private sectors. In addition to his Certified Security Consultant designation, he is Board Certified in Security Management and has been designated a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International. Previously, he served as an Air Force Officer in the Security Forces managing antiterrorism, vulnerability assessment, disaster incident response, force protection, physical security, asset protection, information/technology protection, and law enforcement programs. He has developed security standards and policies for city, county and regional governments, the transportation industry, the chemical industry at the corporate and facility level, and the DoD at the base and headquarters level. He has also authored Preparedness, Terrorism, and Disaster Response Plans for municipalities, the transportation industry, and corporate headquarters.

Ron has conducted and trained others to conduct vulnerability and risk assessments throughout the world. His assessment experience includes court systems at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels; city and counties operations; chemical plants; energy, water, and wastewater utilities; telecommunications facilities; healthcare; and military installations. He is certified in a variety of assessment methodologies to include the Sandia-lab developed RAM family and the Homeland Security Comprehensive Assessment Methodology and uses concepts from CCPS and standards-based methodologies as well as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. Having directed a force of up to 400 security and law enforcement personnel as Deputy Chief of Police and Acting Chief of Police, Ron has evaluated police, fire, and guard force performance at military installations, municipalities, major hospital systems, chemical manufacturing, cultural venues, and telecommunications facilities.
