Scooop.net (http://www.scooop.net), a next generation media site based on democratic voting principles and active participation of its members, released the results of its weekly hot topic poll regarding the nation’s view on why so many Americans fail at losing weight. Four out of ten of those surveyed blame lack of will power and heredity as the chief cause for the failure to succeed at losing weight. Thirty four percent of the survey respondents feel that fast food and a bad diet are the primary cause for the lack of success in weight reduction.
Scooop.net conducted its “Hot Topic” study to discover what people really thought about the subject of weight loss, and to try to identify the solutions that people felt could really solve the weight loss riddle.
When asked what system of weight management or weight loss they felt was the most effective, 42% answered that exercise was the best remedy. An additional 25.9% said that dieting could be successful through better food consumption (better foods).
Fifty four percent of those surveyed said that they had made New Years resolutions about weight loss. This survey comes at the time of year when a large number of Americans are attempting to lose weight. Many people refer to this part of the year as weight loss season.
Sixty seven percent of those surveyed stated that they needed to lose 20 or more pounds. Seventy two percent answered yes when asked whether they had ever tried to lose weight using a specific program.
