WebAssist Promotes Michael Lekse to Vice President of Worldwide Sales: Joins Management Team to Drive Corporate Strategy in High-Growth Phase

The promotion of Michael Lekse to Vice President, Worldwide Sales for WebAssist, was announced today, after a record-breaking year for the company. WebAssist is a developer of extensions and services for Adobe (formerly Macromedia) products.

(PRWEB) January 12, 2006 -- WebAssist today announced the promotion of Michael Lekse to Vice-President, Worldwide Sales, capping a year of unprecedented growth for the company. Lekse's promotion is one of many highlights in a banner year for WebAssist; the company has experienced an escalation across the board in product sales, partner acquisition and strategic account growth.

Lekse, who joined WebAssist in January, 2005 as Director of North America Sales, previously held roles at Macromedia and Laszlo Systems focused on driving customer adoption and partner recruitment. With more than 10 years of experience in the software industry with companies such as NeXT Software and Apple Computer, Lekse brings expertise in revenue generation for both emerging software vendors and establish organizations. In his new position, Lekse will directly manage the day-to-day operation for the entire sales organization at WebAssist. Lekse has led the way to exploring new business opportunities, including consulting and integration services with Breeze, the rich Web communication system from Adobe.

President of WebAssist, Eric Ott, said of Lekse's promotion, "Michael Lekse's drive, commitment and previous senior management experience was critical to WebAssist's success in 2005. We anticipate that working with Michael in his new capacity as Vice President will further fuel the company's expansion." Lekse responded, "WebAssist is known for being the industry leader in delivering high quality software extensions for Macromedia’s Web development tools. Now, with the merger of Macromedia and Adobe, WebAssist will key in on ways to enable designers and developers to work together more seamlessly in their daily workflows. I am excited to be given an expanded role within the organization and will be looking to continue the accelerated growth through the development of new channels and the European market.”

In 2005, WebAssist experienced a 200% growth in corporate revenue and a 300% increase in product revenue. The year saw the release of over 12 new products, including innovative Dreamweaver extensions like WA Site Import and WA SiteAssist and value bundles, such as WA Super Suite.

WebAssist's enterprise services division also experienced continued growth. New deals were signed this year with industry leaders AOL, eBay, Affinity, 1&1. Partnerships with companies like Constant Contact and VitalStream leveraged WebAssist's expertise in Adobe (formerly Macromedia) development to help companies add value to their Web presence and simplicity in their service integration.
