Jamaican Churches are Going Global Via Webcasting

Many Jamaicans all over the world now can watch Jamaican worship services on-line!

Kingston, Jamaica (PRWEB) January 12, 2006 -- East Jamaica conference and PraiseCast are working together webcasting sermons of Jamaican Pastors. People and especially Jamaicans all over the world can now watch Jamaican churches’ worship services on-line. East Jamaica Conference has over 100 member churches and every week a different church will be featured.

“With several hundred thousand Jamaicans outside of Jamaica, we are very excited to reach them as well as help them connect to their own churches in Jamaica,” said Pastor Adrian A. Cotterell, Conference president. “In essence, as part of our ‘Tell the World’ campaign, we are inviting the entire world to our churches,” continued Pastor Cotterell.

East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists currently has 37 Pastoral districts, 135 congregations and over 59,636 members. Within the territory there are the following Adventist’ institutions: one hospital, three clinics, 2 High schools, six primary schools and a number of basic schools.

“We are living in a Global Village today, where families and friends are widely dispersed all over the world. With this new technology our conference members, as well as other Jamaicans or non-Jamaicans can join in our prayers and worship services,” said Pastor Arlington R. Woodburn, Conference communication’s director.

PraiseCast is the company that provides the webcasting services. “ PraiseCast’s complete and unique approach to church webcasting will enable us to extend our reach and connect with people who are unable to attend in person,” said Pete Saunders, the Conference webmaster. “East Jamaica Conference’s passion to reach people is very exciting. We are pleased to assist the Conference to achieve this goal,” said Vince Imani, President of PraiseCast.
