fundmylifestyle.com Uses Humor to Lure in Web Site Traffic

Like it or not, pixel advertising might just be here to stay.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 16, 2006

Chicago based entrepreneur, Tim Flatland has cleverly used humor to lure in traffic to his web site, http://www.fundmylifestyle.com.

Thousands of people have visited the site in its first week, which makes the advertisers all the more happy; “This is exactly what we hope happens… advertising on a site like this, with it’s let’s just say creative approach, is bound to bring a lot of traffic. Being apart of it in its initial stages has been fun!”

The recent well documented success of “milliondollarhomepage” has brought on 100’s of copy cat sites hoping to cash in on this new fad. Site owner Tim Flatland thinks it’s all pretty funny, “I started this really as joke ... my own little satire of this boom in million dollar everything.” Joke or no joke, over 200,000 pixels on his site are already gone.

The site (and others like it) sell advertising in a unique and cleaver way, pixel by pixel. A pixel is basically (depending on your screen resolution) the size of dot (“.”). Each advertising space is about the size of 100 of these dots. Advertisers can purchase as many of these squares (100 pixels) as they want, and then upload and image representing a link to their site.

Some might question the sites moral aspect, but there’s no questioning its motive, as it’s all in the name: fundmylifestyle.com; “I’m not claiming to use the money for anything other than purchasing materialistic items that far exceed my pay scale… right now, a new Bentley is high on the list,” Tim claims.

The comedic side of his “aspirations” aren’t lost… every page from “The Story” to the “FAQ” evokes a bit of laughter.

All joking aside, he and the other pioneers of pixel advertising might just be on to something.
