Authentium and OPSWAT Partner to Extend Remote Security Detection for Network Access Control

Authentium, the world’s leading end-point security technology integrator, and OPSWAT, the leader in endpoint security application detection and control, announced today a partnership in which OPSWAT has extended the capabilities of their OESIS product line to include anti-virus products based on the Authentium AntiVirus Software Development Kit (AV-SDK).

San Francisco, CA and West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 17, 2006 -- Authentium, the world’s leading end-point security technology integrator, and OPSWAT, the leader in endpoint security application detection and control, announced today a partnership in which OPSWAT has extended the capabilities of their OESIS product line to include anti-virus products based on the Authentium AntiVirus Software Development Kit (AV-SDK). The partnership solidifies the position of both companies as leaders in their respective areas of the IT security industry.

OPSWAT enables technology companies marketing network security and remote access products to detect, assess and control endpoint security applications such as anti-spyware, antivirus and firewalls. OPSWAT customers have deployed solutions using OPSWAT tools to over 4 million endpoints.

Authentium's ESP (Extensible Security Platform) enables enterprises and service providers to choose which security applications from multiple vendors to make available to their employees or subscribers in an integrated, managed bundle. Authentium technology protects over 18 million e-mail accounts and more than 9 million corporate, education and ISP end points.

“OPSWAT's philosophy is that security companies and their customers need to centrally manage and enforce security policies of remote endpoints,” said Benny Czarny, CEO of OPSWAT. “OPSWAT therefore designs solutions to provide insight into the security state of each endpoint using data provided by the security applications installed on these same endpoints.”

“Being an Authentium API partner ensures that OPSWAT SDKs have the highest level of support for Authentium endpoint security applications,” said Tom Mullen, Director of Business Development at OPSWAT. “Because of this partnership our customers enjoy enhanced capability to support end-customer organizations standardized on Authentium products.

"Working with OPSWAT is a natural extension of Authentium's best-of-breed, integrated approach to desktop and server security." said John Sharp, CEO of Authentium. "Single-vendor solutions are 'last-century thinking' which can't stand up to 21st century threats. With the OPSWAT partnership in place, devices protected by Authentium technology can be recognized as 'secure and trusted,' by network devices equipped with the OPSWAT SDK, allowing safe transit for customer traffic across vendor lines."

Current OPSWAT support for Authentium antivirus and antispyware products is described at http://www.opswat.com/av_release.pdf.
