Swisslog Provides Planning Guidelines for Hospital Transport Robot Implementation

Swisslog announces the release of an e-document outlining detailed criteria for hospital architects and planners entitled “12 Important Considerations for Planning Your AGV Robot-Friendly Hospital.”

The document addresses the critical areas of concern for automatic guided vehicle (AGV) installation that should be addressed early in the planning process. Hospital AGV’s provide bulk material transport throughout a hospital facility and are designed to interact with the unique demands and requirements of hospitals, including corridor traffic, patient safety, elevator automatic door interface to name a few.

Some of the areas of consideration examined within the document include environment, safety issues in corridors, elevator considerations, detailed facility specification requirements to support robotic vehicles, fire door considerations, access to throughput calculation methodology and much more.
