BNTouch Survey Shows Industry Enthusiastic About 2006

Survey shows that the mortgage originator community is optimistic about 2006 despite higher rates and refinance slowdown. The survey also touches on mortgage originator's marketing focus and technology satisfaction.

BNTouch, Inc, a leading database management with automated marketing company focusing on mortgage origination industry recently ran a 10 question survey within the mortgage origination community. With over 50 respondents, 75% felt that 2006 will be a better year then 2005 and only 22% thought that it would be same or worse. 45% said that most of their business came from client referrals which indicates that originators are focused on quality of service they are providing. When asked where they were planning to spend majority of their marketing dollars, 32% said on direct mail, the next category was web site marketing with 16% of the survey takers. Over 44% said that their conversion ratios from leads to applications were over 50% but 21% said it was below 10% which shows the disparity between originators sales and marketing skills. Respondents saw technology as giving them an edge, however decisively said that web sites in particular are not being very effective.
