Lexington International, LLC Prevails in Their First Patent Infringement Action

Lexington International, LLC, innovator, manufacturer and distributor of the HairMax LaserComb®, emerged victorious in their patent infringement lawsuit..

BOCA RATON, FL, (PRWEB) January 19, 2006 -- Lexington International, LLC, innovator, manufacturer and distributor of the HairMax LaserComb®, emerged victorious in their patent infringement lawsuit filed against Photonic Research, based in Michigan, and LBI Investments Inc. With several other litigations on the horizon, the company hopes that this suit will set a precedent and demonstrates its determination to vigorously protect its patent.

“We have gone to great expense to develop our intellectual property rights, and will go to further lengths to defend them,” says Managing Director David Michaels. “We’ve invested years of extensive research to produce a quality device, ensuring that it is ethically and appropriately marketed,” Michaels continues, “It is discouraging to see substandard products on the market that disguise themselves as HairMax LaserComb imitations. This not only clearly infringes on IP rights, but it is damaging for the consumer as well.”

Previous to the HairMax LaserComb, low level laser therapy for hair treatment was available only in salons or clinics, costing thousands of dollars per year. Lexington’s founding director was a pioneer in the use of laser technology at a leading hair care clinic and research center in Sydney, Australia. David Michaels visited this clinic in 1999, and together they developed a hand-held, user-friendly, safe and affordable device for home use that could be promoted worldwide, which eventually evolved into the HairMax LaserComb. It was the very first consumer Low Level Laser device to be sold to the general public in America.

Michaels had hoped that a patent would provide some protection against an influx of competitors, but within the next few years several similar products were introduced representing themselves as laser hair re-growth devices. “We have a very real concern that buyers will relate their experience and non-results with these other devices to the HairMax LaserComb. There are many significant differences in our superior product that need to be considered. Lexington has dedicated many years of study and experimentation and we have come to the conclusion that what we offer is the most effective, highest quality treatment available.”

The HairMax LaserComb is CE compliant, ISO certified for safety, has been issued a medical license from Health Canada and complies with the US CDRH requirements for laser safety.
