Stanford, CA (PRWEB) January 19, 2006
Alumni Career Services at Stanford Graduate School of Business, together with Deborah Henken, president of go-to-market consulting firm Highland Team and Kathryn Ullrich, president of executive recruitment firm Kathryn Ullrich Associates, Inc. announced today the seminar series, Getting To The Top. This series explores the skills and knowledge successful sales and marketing leaders leverage in their careers to get to the top.
The first seminar on Getting To The Top in Product Management and Product Marketing will take place Tuesday, February 7, at Stanford GSB, Bishop Auditorium at 6:00 PM.
Mercy Eyadiel, Director, Stanford Graduate School of Business Alumni Career Services explains, “Alumni are often assessing not only what to do next in their careers but what skills are necessary. In this career series, successful executives will share what skills and expertise they have found to be important in their marketing and sales disciplines. “
”Companies looking for talented middle and senior executives are learning this talent is increasingly difficult to find,” says Kathryn Ullrich, a Silicon Valley executive recruiter. “This is not only because of increased demand, but also because individuals do not have the same opportunities for training and development. It is becoming more important for top talent to seek their own training and mentorship to reach the next levels in their careers.”
Deborah Henken adds, “We have been seeing an increase in companies’ need for marketing talent as our marketing consulting firm is hired to fill this void.”
The first expert panel on product marketing/management features executives formerly at Hewlett-Packard, PeopleSoft, and Sybase who are now at smaller companies:
- Rita Iorfida, VP Products, Liquid Engines
- Rich Mironov, former VP Product Marketing, AirMagnet
- David Straus, SVP Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Corticon
Other programs in the Getting to the Top series are:
March 7 Getting to the Top in Marketing
April 4 Getting Unstuck
May 3 Getting to the Top in Sales Management
June 6 Getting to the Top in Public Relations
September 7 Getting to the Top in Strategic Alliances and Channels Management
October 3 Career Assessment and Strategies
November 9 Getting to the Top - CEOs with Marketing and Sales Backgrounds
