BLACKSBURG, VA (PRWEB) January 18, 2006
Webmail.us, the leading provider of email hosting services to small and geographically dispersed businesses today announced the expansion of its senior management team. Andrea Muscatello was hired as the company’s new vice president of finance and operations and David Sobotta, a member of the board of directors, was hired as the company’s new vice president of sales and marketing. In this executive role, Andrea will be responsible for directing all corporate finance activities within the company, including financial planning, analysis, accounting, and investor relations. She will also head up human resources, legal activities, and other projects defined by the executive management team. David will manage the company’s growing sales force as well as direct all advertising and lead generation activities. Additionally, as an employee of the company, David will be stepping down from his role on the board of directors.
“I’m excited to finally get to work with David and Andrea on a full-time basis,” explained Patrick Matthews, chief executive officer at Webmail.us. “I’ve been working with both of them for several years now, combined—Andrea has been consulting for Webmail for nearly three years and David joined our board of directors last August. Both bring a very seasoned background to the company and, since we all know each other so well, they should both be able to hit the ground running.”
Prior to working at Webmail.us, Andrea was the chief financial officer at Phoenix Integration, a venture backed software firm based in Blacksburg, Virginia. She has consulted for and advised emerging and growth companies on financial and strategic issues since leaving the public accounting industry, where she worked for 11 years with KPMG and as a partner with McLeod & Company, a regional accounting firm in Roanoke, Virginia. Andrea brings to the company a seasoned background of financial accounting and taxation. She is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, a certified public accountant (CPA), and is accredited in business valuation (ABV).
David was most recently the vice president of federal market development at G3 Systems, based in Blacksburg, Virginia as well as a technology evangelist for the National Lambda Rail and the Mid-Atlantic Terascale Project (MATP). Prior to that, David worked at Apple for twenty years, where he was most recently their director of federal sales. In his last four years, his team tripled Apple’s federal sales in what is arguably one of the most Windows centric-markets in the world. David has an honors degree from Harvard, where he majored in history.
