Gotham Baseball Magazine Launches Re-vamped Website

In an effort to provide a more visually appealing destination to its ever-increasing web traffic, Gotham Baseball Magazine has re-launched its online entity, gothambaseball.com. The magazine continues to deliver on its mission to fully cover New York baseball’s past, present and future.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 20, 2006 -- A new look for a new year.

In an effort to provide a more visually appealing destination to its ever-increasing web traffic, Gotham Baseball Magazine has re-launched its online entity, gothambaseball.com. The magazine continues to deliver on its mission to fully cover New York baseball’s past, present and future.

“Gotham Baseball Magazine has taken another step in establishing itself as a legitimate sports media organization,” said Mike McGann, co-founder and Editor-in-Chief. “The sleek new layout and design will allow readers to more easily navigate the site and find the news and information they want, whether it’s the latest on the Mets or Yankees, the minor leagues or college baseball.”

“It's about providing our readers with the best content, and the easiest way to find it,” added Mark Healey, co-founder and Executive Editor. “Our staff has done an impressive job in creating that.”

The re-vamped Gotham Baseball site includes all the key categories of the previous site, including:
-    News: updated as news breaks with personnel changes or game results;
-    Columns: daily insights from a complete lineup of writers and columnists;
-    Features: in-depth look at the local game including Gotham’s top prospects;
-    Amateur Baseball: recently launched, it will cover the tri-state college baseball scene;
-    The Gallery: a media library of local baseball action, and,
-    Forums: a place where fans can commiserate or vent about their favorite team.

New additions to the site’s homepage include interesting Baseball Quotes and a tri-state area weather panel, for those fans heading to the ballpark to catch their favorite team.

“We’ve had terrific feedback from our members on the re-launch,” said McGann. “We look forward to bringing them additional improvements and new features in 2006.”

New features planned include regular chat sessions as well as “GB Live,” podcasts, complete with interview and call-in segments, to be launched in the next month. Recently launched features include the weekly Gotham Baseball e-newsletter, the latest in news from the site and magazine, as well as breaking news updates, and an amateur baseball section. The Amateur Baseball section will feature news and features from the 40-plus colleges that play Division I, II and III baseball in the Gotham coverage area.
