5 Single Parents Wanted for Free Writing Scholarship

Five single parents who are struggling to juggle parenthood and career are set to be given a helping hand, thanks to scholarships to a Freelance Writing Course being offered by new writing school, College of Copywriting and Marketing.

(PRWEB) January 23, 2006 -- Five single parents who are struggling to juggle parenthood and career are set to be given a helping hand, thanks to scholarships to a Freelance Writing Course being offered by new writing school, College of Copywriting and Marketing.

This scholarship is another venture of community project, SMILE (Single Mums (and dads) Income Lifestyle Experience). Last year the SMILE project (which receives no Government funding) helped 15 single mums with free business coaching, life coaching and marketing assistance thanks to the generous support of several local businesses.

SMILE project founder, and chief instructor at College of Copywriting and Marketing, Kris Mills, has a passion for helping single parents which stems from watching her own mother struggle to bring her up alone in a single parent household. Kris is even more excited about this year’s SMILE scholarship as it features something else that Kris is very passionate about.

“As a freelance writer and mother of twin boys, I know how wonderful it can be working from home. I get to have a swim with the boys in the afternoon or kick a ball around with them whenever I want. And at the same time I earn a great income without the stress of commuting.” said Ms Mills.

“I know how precious my time is with my children and I’d love other parents (especially single parents) to be able to experience the same flexibility and joy that I experience working from home as a writer.”

The “Certificate in Freelance Copywriting” delivers the technical writing expertise and the sales skills parents need to attract lucrative writing work so they can hit the ground running.

The Freelance Copywriting course is worth $900 and is offered free of charge to scholarship participants. The only costs participants will incur are a few phone calls, email and internet access and a minor amount of postage.

To be eligible, applicants must be single parents with children under 16 who live with them. All they need to do to apply is simply send an email to scholarship@wordsthatsell.com.au stating in 300 words or less why they would like to be awarded a scholarship. More details can be found at http://www.collegeofcopywriting.com

The College of Copywriting and Marketing is the brainchild of husband and wife direct marketing experts Kris and Shane Mills of successful marketing communications consultancy, Words that Sell Pty Ltd, which has been in operation since 1993. During that time, this multi-faceted company has assisted many thousands of businesses globally.
