Reality Cares Foundation Announces East Coast Expansion
Foundation of Reality Stars to Open New York Office
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 23, 2006 -- The Reality Cares Foundation at The Giving Back Fund, an organization created to inspire philanthropy among young television stars and viewers, announced today that they will be launching a New York office in February 2006. David Steifman, former Director of Special Events in Los Angeles, will be leading the Foundation’s New York office and East Coast activities.
“Our expansion could not have come at a better time,” said Todd Michael Krim, Founder of Reality Cares. “We have raised thousands of dollars for those in need, including families displaced by Hurricane Katrina, and our celebrity support is at an all time high.”
Through publicity-driven events, such as the Kenneth Cole event in New York City honoring reality television producer Mark Burnett in May 2004, Reality Cares strives to find vehicles for young television stars and viewers to be involved in philanthropy through a combination of education, outreach, fundraising and special events.
"The Giving Back Fund is proud to serve as Reality Cares’ fiscal sponsor,” said Marc Pollick, President of The Giving Back Fund. “This new and exciting brand of media is having such a powerful impact in our culture; it is completely appropriate and most welcome that its stars and leaders exert a proportionate influence in philanthropy and helping to make the 'real world' a better place."
The Reality Cares Foundation was founded at The Giving Back Fund to help change the face of philanthropy by leveraging the popularity of reality television stars on behalf of the causes that matter most to them. Through publicity-driven events such as "The Real Deal" Chicago and the Kenneth Cole event in New York City honoring Mark Burnett, Reality Cares strives to find vehicles for young television stars and viewers to be involved in philanthropy through a combination of education, outreach, fundraising and special events.
