Love and Patriotism Still Fly as High as the Flag
In Harm’s Way by Jane Thornton, a recent BookSurge publication, offers its readers a new perspective on the American soldier
Dothan, Alabama (PRWEB) January 21, 2006 -- Many Americans take for granted all the wonderful things they have in the United States: a woman’s right to an education; a child’s right to have a childhood; the freedom of speech; the list goes on. Jane Thornton’s book, In Harm’s Way, is about a family whose love for their country separates, yet also unifies them. Jane Thornton tells us about real people, families and soldiers whose patriotism exceeds expectations. In Harm’s Way will make you laugh and cry, but most importantly, it will remind you to be grateful to those who fought for the very freedom you have today.
Even as a child, Jane Thornton has felt an enormous amount of pride and patriotism for her country. In In Harm’s Way’s introduction, she states, “Even my birthday, Flag Day, was an American-wide celebration. Flags of every size were hung with pride in representation of the deep patriotism we feel in America for having been ‘born free.’ Of course, this freedom was solely produced by soldiers who paid dearly to ensure that freedom. You don’t have to always agree with what these soldiers are doing for you. They fight for you anyway, to preserve the freedoms you currently enjoy!” Reading In Harm’s Way is truly a humbling experience; the reader really comes to appreciate all those brave men and women, past and present, whose duty it is to preserve your way of life. Seeped in love and pride, In Harm’s Way will give its readers fresh perspective and newfound respect for those who have, do, and will fight for our great country’s honor.
