Alsbridge, the independent advisors on Outsourcing, Shared Services and Offshoring today unveiled their Tripartite Charter, a working charter designed to help achieve fair and sustainable outsourcing deals during the contracting process. Alsbridge, the independent advisors on Outsourcing, Shared Services and Offshoring today unveiled their Tripartite Charter, a working charter designed to help achieve fair and sustainable outsourcing deals during the contracting process.

The Charter promotes collaborative working relationships between client, suppliers and advisors based on partnership and trust. Consolidating the operational principles on which the Alsbridge approach to supplier selection and deal negotiation is based, the Charter is comprised of 5 basic tenets that each party involved is encouraged to adhere to.

The Charter has been formalized due to growing awareness within the industry that the traditional arms-length approach to buying outsourcing services – detailed specifications, adversarial negotiations, and squeezing the last penny out of the price – is making it harder to achieve sustainable deals.

In particular, results from the Alsbridge Supplier Think-tank (November 2005) and a more recent survey of leading organisations that have experience with major outsourcing deals lean heavily towards the thinking that current practices in outsourcing procurement are in danger of creating dysfunctional client/supplier relationships.

Alsbridge partner, Rick Simmonds, states: “This Charter establishes cultural ground rules and encourages collaboration so that when the deal is done, the relationship is as strong as the contract. We expect it to be welcomed by clients and suppliers alike.”
