OpenAir Secures Worldwide Rights to Avantimobile

OpenAir the UK-based mobile developer has secured the Worldwide IP rights to the Avantimobile, launched in the UK in November 2005, bringing “least-cost routing” to mobile phones. Avantimobile had been co-developed by OpenAir, Key-Soft based in Russia and Killermobile of Oregon, USA.

(PRWEB) January 23, 2006 -- OpenAir the UK-based mobile developer has secured the Worldwide IP rights to the Avantimobile, launched in the UK in November 2005, bringing “least-cost routing” to mobile phones. Avantimobile had been co-developed by OpenAir, Key-Soft based in Russia and Killermobile of Oregon, USA. Avantimobile is an intelligent automated routing application for the latest generation of Smartphones, Java phones and Pocket PC mobile-PDAs, providing savings of up to 80% off the costs of calls from mobile phones in the UK. Similar savings are also available with non-UK operators.

Once registered for the Avantimobile service, the customer simply dials the required phone number, as they do now, and Avantimobile makes instantaneous decisions on how best to route the call to reduce the cost of it. In many cases, customers do not have to change their existing phones, network contract or mobile numbers.

Tony Lloyd-Weston, Managing Director of OpenAir, the company behind Avantimobile, states, “Since our UK launch, we’ve had tremendous interest in Avantimobile from many UK re-sellers, in addition to those from Ireland, Holland, Spain, Germany, Italy, USA, and as far as Malaysia, Mauritius, Colombia, India and Australia. Many enquiries have come from the existing mobile distribution channels, with some of the biggest names in web-based mobile supplies in the UK and Europe approaching us to become re-sellers of our services. We see the acquisition of the Worldwide rights to Avantimobile as a significant step towards our vision of delivering low-cost VoIP based mobile calls in a simple accessible manner.”

As part of the acquisition, Key-Soft and Killermobile will take share-holdings in OpenAir, with OpenAir taking full responsibility for sales, marketing and licensing of Avantimobile on a worldwide basis. According to Lloyd-Weston, “Avantimobile is now able to address the needs of about 70% of mobile phone users in the World market, we expect many mobile re-sellers and other non-mobile dealers will want to consider this alternative and lucrative market sector, away from the tightly controlled, traditional routes provided by the existing mobile network operators. In utilising VoIP connectivity with our switch, we can easily replicate the services provided in the UK for almost anywhere in the World, providing an immediacy of access to Avantimobile.”

Avantimobile customers can initially register and manage their accounts 24 hours a day on-line at http://www.avantimobile.com where further details of Avantimobile are available and other examples of potential savings to be made.
