The Bug™ Air Freshener, the first innovative air freshener design in over 50 years, has the industry buzzing. The Bug was named for its domed shape and fragrance vents, which give the appearance of a bug-think computer mouse of the air freshening industry. Its novel design, petite size-smaller than a person’s thumb-and long-lasting scented-gel have intrigued industry critics, excited retailers, and have consumers breathing a fresh sign of welcome.

The Bug is designed with a patented sticky underbelly (called, Sticky Technology™) that holds the air freshener in place even on vertical surfaces. The special underbelly allows the Bug to stick almost anywhere without adhesives and it can be moved without leaving any gummy residue. The Bug is particularly effective in cars. Unlike other auto air fresheners that warn against contact with vinyl and dangle annoyingly from the mirror or dashboard, the Bug was designed to cling to a car’s vinyl dashboard, mirror, or console.

“Anyone living in the Sunbelt will tell you how harsh a car’s dashboard environment is,” said Alan Wheatley, Chief Marketing Officer of HandStands, the Bug’s developer and manufacturer. HandStands also designed and developed the very popular and industry-;auded Sticky Pad®. (Millions of Sticky Pads have sold in just three years.) “The Bug was tested at more than 200 degrees Fahrenheit for more than two weeks and survived without melting. The Bug retains its form and vinyl-friendliness even on the hottest, sunniest days.”

Compared with hanging auto air fresheners, the Bug’s improved scent-release design lasts up to three times longer and releases at a steadier rate.

“The Bug lasts longer than any other freshener on the market,” Chris Anderson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Yet at $2.99 (MSRP), it carries a high customer satisfaction rating.”

While freshening the inside of car fueled the innovation process, the Bug has proven effective in any number of applications. Because the Bug sticks to almost anything, even kids have endorsed it – sticking it to a bedroom mirror, and insude their school and sports lockers. A 16-year old girl gave the Bug the teenage equivalent of an Olympic-6.0, saying, “It’s so cool! Now all my friends want one too!”

“Air freshening is a multi-billion dollar industry that has lacked true innovation for 50 years,” Wheatley said. “The Bug is stylish and modern. It will stick to most surfaces in cars, offices, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, school lockers, and garages. The list is endless because the Bug is so effective and appealing.”

The Bug comes in six designer fragrances and colors: Creamy Vanilla™ (yellow); Mountain Pine™ (green); Very Berry™ (red); Summer Breeze™ (blue); New Car™ (purple); and Citrus Twist™ (orange).

The Bug is also available to promotional markets. Corporate logos and organizational insignias can be embedded inside the clear gel.

About Sticky Technology™

Sticky Technology™ utilizes a patented polyurathene technology to create a non-adhesive, non-magnetic, sticky surface. Sticky Technology is vinyl-safe, temperature resistant and leaves no residue.

“Products that utilize Sticky Technology will feel frictionally tacky to the touch.” Wheatley explained. “The Bug can be moved around from one surface to another and not lose its stickiness.”
