R&R Structured Finance Program Comes to Midtown Manhattan

Partners Sylvain Raynes and Ann Rutledge open new classroom space for the next generation of leaders in structured finance.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 25, 2006 -- R&R Consulting (www.creditspectrum.com) will offer the spring term of the Certificate in Structured Finance program in new classroom space located just off Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan.

Graduates of the R&R courses number over 1,000 worldwide.

“Legal Analysis of Securitization” meets Tuesday evenings Feb. 14- March 28. The accounting course, “Accounting Treatment of Special Purpose Vehicles,” meets Thursday evenings Feb. 23-April 6. “Structured Finance I” and “Numerical Analysis” both meet Saturdays, 10 am to 2 pm, March 4-April 1.

The R&R program consists of six intensive courses on the various aspects of deal analysis in structured finance, presented in collaboration with a leading US academic institution. It prepares graduates for work on a deal team at an underwriter, on the buy side, at a mono-line insurer, or at a rating agency.

"Completion of the certificate program enables students to conceptualize, optimize and execute transactions from the ground up, using loan-by-loan analysis, Markov chains, and other more advanced techniques," said Dr. Raynes, who holds a Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering from Princeton.

"We are delighted to have two new faculty members who will join us in the new space," added Ms. Rutledge, who received an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago.

James McDonald, who will teach the law course, has extensive structured finance experience, most recently as manager of the North American structured finance business of a European-headquartered bank. A graduate of Georgetown University, he earned a J.D. from Catholic University of America and an LL.M. (Taxation) from NYU.

James Anderson, who will teach the accounting course, has worked in many areas of securitization, including buy-side analysis and valuation, accounting firm cash-flow modeling and financial regulatory work, and investment bank risk measurement. He received M.B.A. and M.S. Engineering degrees from UCLA.

R&R Consulting, specializes in credit metrics and consultancy for the structured finance market. They are co-authors of The Analysis of Structured Securities (Oxford University Press).
