Absolute Poker announced today an innovative new solution to the college internship application process. In order to cut down the stacks of resumes generally associated with premium internship opportunities, Absolute Poker has organized a series of free entry poker tournaments in order to qualify its candidates.

In order to cut down the stacks of resumes generally associated with premium internship opportunities, Absolute Poker has organized a series of free entry poker tournaments in order to qualify its candidates.

Three university enrolled or recently graduated students will have the opportunity to compete for what many would call the dream internship for the Summer of 2006. “The internship is in Costa Rica with an exciting young poker company. The students will be able to learn and work on the weekdays and play at the beach on the weekends,” commented Benjamin James, Internship Director at Absolute Poker.

On the website, http://www.pokerinternships.com, the question has been posed, “Why is the application process so odd?” The FAQ section of the website answers this quite logically, “We wanted to give everyone a fair opportunity to get one of these internships without having to ‘know someone’ or have ridiculously good grades.” Benjamin James adds, “These guys are going to know poker. That’s our product and our business. Let’s see who we get.”

The first place finisher of the free poker tournament series is given the 2006 summer internship based in Costa Rica. Finishers second through ninth get a phone interview to lobby for the other two spots.
