The Resume Writers Council of Arizona (http://www.rwca.org) and Jobing.com (http://www.jobing.com) have committed to collecting gently used business attire for Save the Family Foundation at the 10th Annual Human Resources Forum event to be held on February 23, 2006. The articles of clothing will provide much needed confidence for job search program clients to present themselves professionally in the workforce.
RWCA members, who provide resume writing services to clients across numerous industries, are committed to integrating community service as an important part of their organization’s mission.
“As career services professionals, our members understand that all-important first impression when attending an interview,” commented Kathy Sweeney, vice-president of RWCA and owner of The Write Resume. “As a part of our continuing commitment to community service, RWCA members believe in helping the homeless families at Save the Family Foundation to achieve the confidence necessary to attain a job, which will lead to self-sufficiency.”
Save the Family Foundation is a 501 (c) non-profit transitional housing organization, providing housing, education and career-related resources to homeless families, which leads to self-sufficient, productive individuals.
“Part of a person’s success through the job search and interview process includes a great first impression with employers and the confidence that comes from receiving clothing that they would have difficulty affording on their own at this stage in their lives,” stated Mike Hayashi, Career Development Director for Save the Family Foundation. “It’s such a pleasure to have organizations such as RWCA come to us asking if they can help without expecting anything in return. It creates a win-win scenario for our clients when we receive donations of practical and useful items which can be utilized for our current and future clients.”
If members of the community would like to donate items of gently used business attire, in sizes 10 and higher, please visit http://www.savethefamily.org for more information.
