Just in time for the day of lovers and gifts (Valentine's Day), two friends decide to give each other the gift of freedom -- a web site called romantic-ideas-for-life.com. This newborn creation, brainchild of co-founders Karina Duarte and Julia Simkin, came to life as a result of two people wanting to make a difference and knowing that they had something distinctive to say.
Duarte, a native of Argentina, and Simkin, a native of the former Soviet Union, first met in an entrepreneurship class while attending Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business. Coming from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds, Simkin and Duarte bonded somewhat unexpectedly. “It was our similar outlook on life,” said Duarte, “that first struck a cord with me, but then it was our mutual desire to share our ideals with the world that truly formed our friendship and singular purpose.”
Needless to say, six months later, http://www.romantic-ideas-for-life.com was born. The site sends a message to us all -- singles, couple, friends and lovers, young and old, male and female -- a message of love and hope, teaching us to not only love ourselves but also to love the abundant life that surrounds us. It’s an inspired and whimsical journey that you don’t want to miss.
“This site is a tremendous gift,” said Simkin, when asked about the inspiration behind the project…”Karina and I were both desperate to find work that would provide the freedom we needed to fully express our visions and aspirations …and Romantic-ideas-for-life has granted us that wish.”
Some of Simkin’s and Duarte’s artistically ingenious ‘trips’ include: Becoming a ‘Human Flower’ for a day, taking a ‘Virtual’ Romantic Vacation, exploring the ‘RomanceIt! Model for Gift-Giving’, becoming a ‘Geisha for the Night’, and creating a Soul Mated Love using the wisdom of the Zodiac. So if you’re ready to take a step off the beaten path, http://www.romantic-ideas-for-life.com is the place for you. Don’t worry if you’re a bit unsure of what to bring on one of these adventurous trips. These gals already made the plans and packed your bags -- all you have to do is show up.
While incredibly fun and light, the significance of Simkin’s and Duarte’s work cannot be overlooked, especially on this universal day of love -- the day of St. Valentine. There could be no better time than the present, given the psychological and spiritual state of the world, to introduce such a warm-hearted, thought-provoking, and love-inspiring site. So without further ado, I give to you, http://www.romantic-ideas-for-life.com.
Karina and Julia dedicate this Valentine’s Day to friendship...freedom...and serendipity.
