New web site specifically for cabinet power distribution units (CDU’s) is the first web site specifically targeted at basic and metered CDU’s for the data center environment. CDU’s distribute power at the cabinet level to ensure reliable and adequate power is delivered to all the installed cabinet devices. A wide variety of features include horizontal and vertical (0U) mounting, 120 V, 208 V, 208 V 3-Phase and 230 V power input options, 20 and 30 Amp input currents, multiple outlet options, and branch circuit protection. Specific CDU’s also have dual input power feeds for high density cabinets or for applications that demand fail safe redundant power.

Basic CDU models provide economical and reliable power distribution. 30 A devices provide branch circuit protection and multicolored outlets to easily distinguish between each branch circuit to help ensure that an individual circuit is not over loaded. The Basic CDU is available in vertical Zero U models and horizontal rack-mount models.

Metered CDU models provide single or three-phase power input (single phase output) with power monitoring. LED digital displays (one per branch circuit/phase) reports True RMS input current; engineers in the data center use this information to properly load balance their IT equipment and maximize existing power circuits, while reducing the risk of an overloaded circuit. The Metered CDU is available in vertical Zero U models and horizontal rack-mount models.

Metered power advantages include; the operator always knowing how close they are to exceeding the overall current rating. This allows the cabinet to be operated with maximum efficiency and ensures that the data center is optimizing their assets as well as expensive cabinet space. Without a CDU which provides a current reading many facilities have no idea how close or far away they are from actually exceeding the ratings and the certain disaster that will follow should the circuit be over loaded. Utilizing true “RMS” measuring when monitoring current, ensures accurate readings with our metered CDU family. True RMS is the best and most consistent way to measure dynamic waveforms.    When running dual circuits to a cabinet for redundancy, for dual power cord devices, current monitoring is the only way to ensure each circuit is loaded to 50% or less capacity in case power is lost on one of the circuits. These current meters also allow for a three phase power load to be balanced, which is required for proper operation of three phase circuits.

Along with superior products comes superior support. Our technical support department is available to answer any questions customers may have either via email or by phone. A standard 1 year warranty is included on all products with optional extended warranties available upon request.

These CDU’s are the first family of cabinet-level power distribution units to provide 30-amp power distribution (110V, 208V or 208 V 3-Phase) directly to the equipment cabinet while providing Branch Circuit Protection within the CDU. They are also the first power distribution units to meet the stringent requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 60950-1, which is now required of all new 30-amp rack-level PDUs.
