OST Chosen by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to Integrate a Grants Management Solution

Optimal Solutions and Technologies, a Washington DC-based management consulting, integration, and information technology firm announced today that it has been awarded a large, multi-year contract by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

(PRWEB) February 1, 2006 -- Optimal Solutions and Technologies (OST, Inc.), a Washington DC-based management consulting, integration, and information technology firm announced today that it has been awarded a large, multi-year contract by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The contract is known as Resource Allocation (RA).

RA is one of HUD’s primary financial management modernization programs and requires the integration of a sophisticated COTS package with current and future HUD financial systems and processes. The contract will improve the management and delivery of subsidies, grants, loans, and other financial assistance to HUD’s partner agencies and other recipients at the state and local levels.

“This effort will enable HUD to improve its grants management delivery” said Ajay Madan, Chief Operating Officer of OST. “We hope that it serves as a model for other grants management modernization programs.”

Vijay Narula, Chief Executive Officer, stated “Applying our CMMI Level 3 derived methods and domain expertise to this modernization effort will ensure program success."

The RA program is one of the largest programs within HUD’s Public and Indian Housing – Real Estate Assessment Center (PIH-REAC) organization. RA is a key priority at PIH because it will automate the delivery and management of over 20 billion dollars of subsidy allocations. OST’s successful integration of a COTS package will enhance PIH-REAC’s current financial data management processes and help HUD more effectively manage the flow of that information throughout HUD.

The key differentiators for OST’s win included their CMMI-based approach to process improvement, the experience of their proposed team in providing directly related solutions to other government agencies, and the experience of the proposed staff in supporting HUD operations.

Since its inception in 1999, OST has successfully managed several mid to large-scale programs in the aviation, defense, financial, health, insurance, transportation, and utility industries. Its client base includes numerous Fortune 1,000 companies; public sector organizations including the US Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Transportation, and Treasury; as well as state and local governments.
