Sharon Snuffin, owner of Snuffin’s Catering, received the first place medal in the Catering Reality Iron Chef Dessert Challenge on January 25, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The on-stage competition (sponsored by The International Caterers Association) required seven catering chefs from North America to create an elegant plated dessert from a surprise selection of dessert components.
Ms. Snuffin was also named a finalist in the Best Catered Hors d’Oeuvre category for the prestigious CATIE Award (Catered Arts Through Innovative Excellence).
The CATIE Awards are sponsored by The International Caterers Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education, mentoring and service for professional caterers and promoting the profession of catering to clients, industry members, vendors,?and the public.
Snuffin’s Catering, a former Small Business of the Year, is the largest off-premise caterer in Pierce County. They are currently celebrating their 31 st year of catering elegant events for corporate and social clients in South Puget Sound. Sharon Snuffin, President, currently serves on the Board of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, the Board of The Franciscan Foundation, and as chairman of the Food Services Advisory Board for the Pierce County Health Department. She was named a 2004 Woman of Distinction by the Pierce County Business Journal.
