About the Keynote Speaker
Dr. Pamella Thomas
Dr. Pamella Thomas is the director of Wellness and Health Promotion at Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems Company. She has held this position since June 2002 after being medical director from March 1989 providing administrative oversight for medical services to over 7,000 employees located in five southeastern states. In June 2002, her duties were expanded to include health and productivity management as well as disease prevention for over 28,000 employees mainly located in Georgia, Texas and California.
She has developed a broad-based preventive medicine and wellness program for the employees, retirees and dependents of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, which incorporates a number of community resources. She is also very active in community wellness and prevention efforts from health fairs to serving on the boards of directors of organizations that provide community services, as well as fund raising for the programs. The community represents future employees and dependents. Her efforts were recognized in 2002 by the Institute of Health and Productivity Management, who awarded her and Lockheed Martin the award for Corporate Health and Productivity Management Innovation and Leadership. She is co chair of the executive committee for Healthy Dekalb and on the Governors steering committee of Live Healthy Georgia.
