New York (PRWEB) February 6, 2006
International students at New York University (NYU) now have a new online interactive resource to help them understand the increasingly complicated process of coming to the U.S. and maintaining their student status. The resource can be viewed at http://www.kognito.net/int.
NYU's Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) adopted Kognito's Guide for International Students to provide its students with the information they need on topics such as getting their student visa and entering the U.S., maintaining their student status, understanding American academic customs, and obtaining U.S. employment.
The new tutorial, which is customized for NYU needs, organizes information into easy-to-follow topics, augmented by dynamic animations that make the material easier to understand and remember. For example, the tutorial highlights documents such as the SEVIS I-20 and the I-94 card to show students the proper way to read these forms and fill them out. Furthermore, it contains videos of fellow international students, who share relevant experiences as students in the U.S.
"We were looking for an effective way to educate our international students about important immigration guidelines, American culture, and our university," said OISS Director Gail Szenes. "Kognito's highly engaging tutorial provided the answer. Working with Kognito has been a great experience. Their process and team made the development of this project simple and efficient."
"I wish I had had a tutorial like this when I was an international student," said Kognito's Director of Business Development Ron Goldman. "It sets a friendly and welcoming tone for new international students and helps ease their transition into American academic life."
The guide is also available in a generic format for other universities that want to adopt a customized version, tailored to their specific needs. A link to the NYU guide and information on customizing the tutorial for other universities can be found at http://www.kognito.net/int.
