SEMPO, the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (http://www.sempo.org) has announced that John Sanchez, chairman and CEO of Dallas-based Zunch Communications, Inc., has been nominated as a candidate for the 2006 elections of its Board of Directors. Sanchez is currently the vice president of the organization whose membership includes search engine marketing professionals from the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
“I am extremely delighted to have been nominated again to serve on this talented board,” Sanchez said. “I feel that I have the leadership ability to drive SEMPO from a still young and promising organization into an entity that is truly a representative of those who practice search engine marketing. I would truly be honored by the vote.”
Sanchez would also like to focus on the organization’s growth, both domestically and internationally. Serving as co-chair of the organization’s Global Committee, he has helped it grow internationally by helping search marketers worldwide create SEMPO Regional Working Groups raise awareness on search in their respective countries.
“Although we have made some inroads to Europe with our international outreach, I believe there are some major opportunities in Latin America and Asia to further the goals of this organization,” he said.
Sanchez would also like to increase the number of discounts from trusted vendors so that each member of SEMPO can benefit from the organization. Although each member won’t benefit from every discount, Sanchez’s goal is to create a suite of discounts that everyone will be able to take advantage of.
“There are many vendors that would be willing to provide SEMPO members with substantial and meaningful discounts,” Sanchez said. “One of my goals will be to find those vendors and set up the deals.”
SEMPO Elections for the new Board of Directors will open Monday, February 6 and will close on Friday, February 17. The new SEMPO Board of Directors will take charge on Wednesday, March 1.
